Our client, an automotive industry leader has requested us to search for an experienced Commercial Director to support their operations in Mexico.
Position Summary: We are seeking an experienced and strategic Commercial Director to lead the commercial operations of our automotive foam components customer. Our client specializes in high-performance foam solutions used in seating, headliners, NVH (Noise, Vibration & Harshness) systems, thermal insulation, and interior trim parts, supplying Tier 1 and Tier 2 manufacturers in the automotive sector. The successful candidate will drive business growth, lead client engagement efforts, and manage a high-performance sales team across Mexico.
Key Responsibilities:
Define and execute the commercial strategy for foam products targeting automotive OEMs, Tier 1 and Tier 2 clients.
Lead a team of regional sales managers and key account executives, aligning efforts with corporate growth goals.
Develop deep relationships with OEMs and aligned suppliers in the automotive supply chain to position our foam solutions for long-term contracts.
Oversee key account management, customer satisfaction, and sales forecasting.
Collaborate with product development, engineering, and manufacturing teams to align foam product offerings with customer needs and regulatory standards.
Negotiate commercial agreements, pricing structures, and annual volume contracts.
Monitor market trends, customer requirements, and competitive activity in the foam and materials space.
Represent the company at automotive trade shows, expos, and technical forums across Mexico and North America.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or Industrial Design (Materials Engineering is a plus). MBA is a plus.
10+ years of commercial experience in the automotive industry, including at least 5 years selling foam products or interior components to OEMs, Tier 1 and Tier 2 customers.
Strong understanding of foam applications in automotive interiors and NVH systems.
Established network with purchasing and engineering teams at Tier 1s/OEM suppliers in Mexico.
Solid track record in sales leadership, team building, and exceeding growth targets.
Skilled negotiator with knowledge of long-cycle B2B automotive sales and RFQ processes.
