Sr Human Resources Manager

Position Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Human Resources Manager to lead and coordinate HR strategy across multiple manufacturing sites in Mexico for a leading Tier 1/Tier 2 automotive supplier. This critical role will oversee HR operations, labor relations, and employee engagement initiatives. The successful candidate will bring deep knowledge of Mexican labor law and union dynamics, and will be instrumental in improving union relationships, driving compliance, and fostering a positive, high-performance work culture across all locations.

Key Responsibilities
Multi-Plant HR Leadership
  • Lead and standardize HR practices across multiple plant locations.
  • Partner with plant management to align HR initiatives with operational goals.
  • Guide recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and workforce planning strategies.
  • Oversee training and development programs to build employee and leadership capability.
Labor & Union Relations
  • Serve as the main liaison with unions (e.g., CTM, CROC, or independent unions), promoting respectful and transparent dialogue.
  • Negotiate and manage Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBAs).
  • Lead grievance handling, conflict resolution, and arbitration processes.
  • Build proactive labor strategies to strengthen union-management relations and reduce disputes.
Compliance & Risk Management
  • Ensure full compliance with Mexican labor law (Ley Federal del Trabajo) and applicable IMSS/INFONAVIT regulations.
  • Support labor audits and manage legal documentation and investigations.
  • Mitigate risks by ensuring adherence to internal policies and national labor regulations.
Employee Engagement & Culture
  • Champion company values and foster a culture of trust, accountability, and performance.
  • Implement employee engagement surveys and lead action planning based on feedback.
  • Support diversity, equity, inclusion, and well-being initiatives.
HR Metrics & Strategic Reporting
  • Monitor and analyze key HR indicators (turnover, absenteeism, labor claims, training hours).
  • Provide regular strategic updates and recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Use HR data to drive decisions and continuous improvement.

Qualifications
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, or related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Minimum 8–10 years of progressive HR experience in the manufacturing sector, preferably in the automotive industry.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in unionized environments in Mexico, with demonstrated success managing CBAs and union negotiations.
  • Experience supporting multiple plant locations is required.

  • Expert knowledge of Mexican labor law and union structures.
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Strategic mindset with operational HR execution capability.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Fluency in Spanish required; English proficiency essential for multinational coordination.
