Engineering Manager

Position Summary
The Engineering Manager will lead a multidisciplinary engineering team responsible for sustaining and improving manufacturing processes, launching new products, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring the plant meets all quality, cost, and delivery objectives. This role will serve as a key liaison between operations, quality, maintenance, and corporate engineering.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage a team of process, manufacturing, and industrial engineers.
  • Drive process optimization, yield improvement, and cost-reduction initiatives across the plant.
  • Oversee new product introductions (NPI) and ensure successful ramp-up to mass production.
  • Champion lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Ensure compliance with automotive quality standards such as IATF 16949 and ISO 14001.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Quality, Production, Maintenance, and Supply Chain.
  • Support CAPEX planning and execution for equipment upgrades and facility improvements.
  • Develop and mentor engineering staff; promote a culture of innovation, safety, and accountability.
  • Interface with customers and global engineering teams on technical requirements and project timelines.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical Engineering or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 7+ years of experience in an engineering leadership role within automotive manufacturing.
  • Proven track record of managing engineering projects, including equipment installations and process development.
  • Deep knowledge of automotive manufacturing processes (e.g., stamping, injection molding, assembly, machining).
  • Strong understanding of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish) required.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and team development skills.

Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with APQP, PPAP, and FMEA processes.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and manufacturing execution systems (MES).
  • Experience with automation and Industry 4.0 technologies.
