Job Description The Oracle Application Developer’s role is to provide technical support to the Oracle ERP system and related projects including but not limited to:
Develop, code, test and analyze new and existing customizations, views, reports, interfaces and packages.
Support the implementation of new Oracle modules in an Oracle R12 environment.
Load legacy data and assist with application setup to integrate new businesses or product lines into an Oracle R12 environment.
Troubleshoot existing applications and customizations as needed.
Major Responsibilities:
Vendor/Tool Management: Responsible for working with vendors to maintain customizations as well as working to implement new features and functions as directed.
Strategy & Planning: Design and implement long-term strategic goals and short-term tactical plans for managing and maintaining corporate systems and software.
Ensure that proposed and existing systems architectures are aligned with organizational goals and objectives.
Provide architectural expertise, direction, training and assistance as needed.
Conduct research on emerging technologies in support of Oracle system development efforts, and recommend technologies that will increase cost effectiveness and systems flexibility.
Acquisition & Deployment: Where applicable, design, develop, and implement end-to-end integrated systems.
Document the company’s existing process and methodology; make recommendations for improvements and/or alternatives.
Review new and existing Oracle projects and procurement or outsourcing plans for compliance with standards and architectural plans.
Operational Management: Consult with end-users, clients, or senior management to define business requirements for complex systems and infrastructure development.
Model business and system processes based on findings through use case scenarios and workflow diagrams.
Develop and execute test plans to check infrastructure and systems technical performance. Report on findings and make recommendations for improvement.
Develop and manage a systems capacity plan.
Develop, document, communicate, and enforce policies for standardizing systems and software.
Package software and design distribution methods.
Perform software distribution and patch management for operating systems and applications.
Provide Tier 3 support as needed.
Occasional travel is required.
Required Skills & Experience:
College Degree in computer science, information sciences or related field
3-5 Years’ Experience in an Oracle 11i and R12 environment or Masters’ degree and 1-3 years of work experience and certifications and training
Availability to provide 24X7 Tech Support for on call and escalations as needed.
Demonstrated experience with business requirements gathering and analysis.
Strong familiarity with business processes associated with a manufacturing environment and experience with a wide range of Oracle 11i and R12 modules (inventory, costing, MRP, bill of material, routers, purchasing/receiving, shipping, order management and financials).
Experience with Linux shell scripting, SQL and PL/SQL
Knowledgeable in BI Publisher, Discoverer, Oracle Reports and PowerBI.
Able to develop and troubleshoot custom applications in Oracle Apex.
Working knowledge of Oracle Advanced Queuing.
Experience in the following subject matter areas is highly desired:
