The Production Manager will be responsible for overseeing daily manufacturing operations, ensuring the achievement of safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost objectives while fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead all day-to-day production activities to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable manufacturing operations.
- Drive operational excellence by improving productivity, quality, efficiency, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
- Ensure production schedules are executed on time while meeting customer expectations.
- Develop and mentor production supervisors and frontline leaders to build high-performing teams.
- Promote a culture of safety and ensure compliance with all environmental, health, and safety regulations.
- Monitor and improve key manufacturing metrics, including productivity, scrap, labor efficiency, downtime, inventory accuracy, and on-time delivery.
- Champion Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives throughout the operation.
- Collaborate closely with Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, Maintenance, Planning, Human Resources, and Finance to optimize plant performance.
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for production, quality, and operational issues.
- Manage labor planning, staffing requirements, and workforce development initiatives.
- Support new product introductions and manufacturing process improvements.
- Develop and manage departmental budgets while controlling manufacturing costs.
- Foster employee engagement and maintain positive employee relations.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and operational procedures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field.
- 7+ years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience.
- Minimum 3 years leading production operations in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
- Experience managing multiple production supervisors and large hourly workforces.
- Strong background in Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, Six Sigma, Kaizen, 5S, and problem-solving methodologies.
- Demonstrated ability to improve KPIs through data-driven decision making.
- Experience working within ERP/MRP systems.
- Strong planning, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
- Bilingual English and Spanish preferred.
- Availability to work in Tijuana, Baja California.
