Production Manager

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
Our client is a well-established global manufacturer of consumer products seeking an experienced Production Manager to lead manufacturing operations at its Tijuana facility. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a hands-on manufacturing leader who is passionate about operational excellence, employee development, continuous improvement, and delivering world-class performance in a fast-paced production environment.

The Production Manager will be responsible for overseeing daily manufacturing operations, ensuring the achievement of safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost objectives while fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead all day-to-day production activities to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable manufacturing operations.
  • Drive operational excellence by improving productivity, quality, efficiency, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
  • Ensure production schedules are executed on time while meeting customer expectations.
  • Develop and mentor production supervisors and frontline leaders to build high-performing teams.
  • Promote a culture of safety and ensure compliance with all environmental, health, and safety regulations.
  • Monitor and improve key manufacturing metrics, including productivity, scrap, labor efficiency, downtime, inventory accuracy, and on-time delivery.
  • Champion Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives throughout the operation.
  • Collaborate closely with Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, Maintenance, Planning, Human Resources, and Finance to optimize plant performance.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for production, quality, and operational issues.
  • Manage labor planning, staffing requirements, and workforce development initiatives.
  • Support new product introductions and manufacturing process improvements.
  • Develop and manage departmental budgets while controlling manufacturing costs.
  • Foster employee engagement and maintain positive employee relations.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and operational procedures.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience.
  • Minimum 3 years leading production operations in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Experience managing multiple production supervisors and large hourly workforces.
  • Strong background in Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, Six Sigma, Kaizen, 5S, and problem-solving methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to improve KPIs through data-driven decision making.
  • Experience working within ERP/MRP systems.
  • Strong planning, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
  • Bilingual English and Spanish preferred.
  • Availability to work in Tijuana, Baja California.

Target Salary: Around $3,300 Pesos/Daily + Benefits
